East End Rebels Walking Tour

From Angel Alley, home to Jewish anarchist tradition, to Gardiner’s Corner, where East Enders blocked the path to Mosley’s fascists, this walk provides an insight into the heritage of Jewish protest and rebellion in east London. Led by writer and historian David Rosenberg, we’ll discover the rebellious individuals, such as Rudolf Rocker, Morris Mindel and Hannah Billigfind and find out what led to the Princelet Street riot. Rosenberg will also reveal how and why so many Jews came to the area from the Russian Empire and how they coped with the challenges of their new circumstances – in the workplace, housing and education.
