Shoreditch: A Jewish Journey Through Time

We invite you to join us for a walking tour around one of the most vibrant areas of London, with Blue Badge guide and Jewish social historian Isabelle Seddon. We’ll take in Shoreditch’s rich history, from 1600 to the present day. Highlights include London’s first theatre, where Shakespeare’s plays were performed; Britain’s first social housing estate that was predominantly Jewish; the old workshops and warehouses that were once the centre of the furniture industry (and English Heritage consider the best preserved of their kind in England); and a visit to Museum of the Home (formerly the Geffrye Museum) where there will be an opportunity to explore a 1913 East End flat, an installation curated with the help of Jewish community groups.

Meeting point: Old Street Station, London, EC1Y 1BE

Places are extremely limited, so book now to avoid disappointment.
