Watch Visit Israel’s wonderfully cheesy guide to Tel Aviv during Eurovision 2019
For the first time in the history of Eurovision, the internationally adored song contest will be held in Tel Aviv. To celebrate the fact, and to encourage visitors to get out and explore the glorious city, Israel's tourism board has released an Insider’s Guide to Celebrating Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, with a suitably cheesy promo video to boot (watch above).
Thanks to the bold electro-pop number ‘Toy’ by Hod HaSharon singer Netta Barzilai, which netted Israel their fourth Eurovision win last year, from 14-18 May Tel Aviv will be more buzzing than usual. The boardwalk at Charles Clore Park will be transformed into the Eurovision Village. From here you can watch every performance on the big screens, which will broadcasting the entire contest live. Another highlight will be White Night (16 May), an all-nighter featuring free events and exhibitions throughout Tel Aviv’s museums, bars, beaches and more. And don’t miss Eat Festival (12-18 May), which will be right beside Eurovision Village, so you can get a real taste of Tel Aviv whilst watching the festivities unfurl.
