Winter Issue Launch: Jewish Iceland

Where in the world can you find a mikvah in a hot spring, spirituality in a glacier and celebrate a three-day long Shabbat? Find out about the unique Jewish community currently in Iceland, as well as the remarkable musical émigrés who settled there in the 1930s, as we celebrate the launch of our new issue dedicated to the Nordic island nation. We’ll be joined by musicologist Árni Heimir Ingólfsson, who discusses Music at World’s End, his new book about three exiled musicians from Nazi-occupied Europe and their contribution to Iceland’s musical heritage; Mushky Feldman, wife of the Chief Rabbi of Iceland; and Sibyl Urbancic Kneihs, who arrived in Iceland as a child in the 1930s.
